3 Ways to Better your Business from Home
All of us, and I mean all of us had a list of things that fell under the “Yeesh, yeah… I have to get to that” file, and yet somehow we’ve all found ourself clawing at the windows with boredom.
Well “Ffffffffft”…. that was me blowing the dust of your file for you.
I’ve got three, just three, simple things you can do today to give your business a little TLC. Give them a try, and let me know how they workout for you.
Review your Reviews
Think about it. When’s the last time you took a minute to look at who’s left you a review? Heck, have you ever even thanked the folks who have? Or worse, do you have a scathing negative review that you had no idea about? (Don’t laugh, it happens; trolls are everywhere). Now’s the time to get on that! Log onto your Facebook, Google yourself, and look at the platforms used for your industry (i.e., Zillow for Realtors, Yelp if you own a Pizzeria, etc.)
Don’t have reviews to review? You’re not getting off the hook. Now is the perfect (and I mean perfect) time to ask for them. Here’s what I recommend; draft up a “review request” as a note in your phone, or a word document on your lap top. Keep it generic so the next time you have a little down time, you can send out the same request to any new clients. When I was starting off my real estate career, I kept this note in my phone and would text it to recent customers:
“Hey there XXXX,
Hope you’re doing well & enjoying settling into your new home! When you get sick of unpacking boxes, would you do me a favor and leave me a review? I would greatly appreciate it!
Here are some links to make it easy for you:
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/barbarajenkinsrealtor
Zillow: https://www.zillow.com/profile/barbaraljenkins/
Google: If you just google Barbara Jenkins Realtor, I’ll come up!
Reviews on any (or all) platforms help me and my business more than you realize!
Thank you!See how I included the links to make it that much easier for them? Damn, I’m good.
2. Give your Social Profiles a Polishing
Do the links on your Facebook lead to where they’re supposed to? Are the listed phone numbers correct? Can you easily find your business hours? Can you easily find your address?
Long story short, put yourself in the shoes of the consumer trying to find your business. Is it frustrating? It shouldn’t be.
3. Refresh your Bio or Resume
That’s right, more dusting off. I guarantee you you’ll find some out of date facts when you start looking closely at your website “about me” section, your social media profile’s “about” area, or even your business print collateral.
For instance, if you have “Barbara lives in Jacksonville with her two sons and their cat, Fluffy”, just make sure your sons aren’t middle aged and Fluffy is still alive.
Bonus points: If you can’t remember where you purchased the outfit your wearing in your headshot, look into shooting a new one.
Now is the perfect time to “brush the dust off” your old to-do list. But most importantly, stay safe and stay healthy!
